Sacrifice Sciel
Overview
Learn how to turn Sciel into a premier damage dealer in Expedition 33 with the Sacrifice Sciel Build. Our guide on Sciel will show you the best recommendations for weapons, luminas, skills and combos. We hope you enjoy this build on your journey to defeat the Paintress. Sacrifice Sciel is a fun and unique take on turning Sciel into the absurd damage dealer that she can be by siphoning your own companions’ damage to destroy the battlefield.
Foretell
Foretell is the core gimmick for Sciel. Most of her abilities either add stacks, consume them, or scale with them. Applying stacks grants Sun charge, which boosts AP generation when using Moon abilities. Consuming stacks grants Moon charge, which boosts AP generation when using Sun abilities. If both charges are present then it will trigger Twilight. During Twilight Sciel deals extra damage, applies double Foretell with her applications, and then resets back to normal after two turns. With Sacrifice Sciel you want to stack foretell quickly, then consume it for extra AP or damage depending on what your team needs.

Act 1 & 2
Sciel’s early skill rotation is all about Stacking Foretell, manipulating turns, and keeping your team’s momentum going.
- Marking Card is a simple but strong opener. It applies Three Foretell, deals solid single-target damage, and most importantly, marks an enemy for bonus damage from your other skills. It remains useful for a long time.
- Bad Omen is great AoE and Foretell generation. Against three targets, it instantly drops six total stacks, which sets you up beautifully. It also syncs perfectly with her early weapon choice.
- Delaying Slash is a surprise MVP. It scales with Foretell stacks, deals huge damage, and slows enemies based on how many stacks they have. Controlling turn order is absurdly strong in this game, and this ability gives you that control while doubling as a powerful nuke.
- Even in a damage-focused build Plentiful Harvest stays. It consumes Foretell to refill your team’s AP, which lets Sciel act as both a carry and support. Early fights become easier with a simple Card Weaver into Plentiful Harvest opener.
- Card Weaver is Sciel’s most flexible tool. It applies Ten Foretell to all enemies and grants her an extra turn. This sets up many potential combos, more Foretell for Delaying Slash, or immediate Plentiful Harvest for free AP.
- Sealed Fate (Optional) is her highest raw damage option early, but on a weak side of the tree. It delays the rest of your build, and Delaying Slash already covers its role with better synergy. Worth taking only if you have find you have excess skill points.
Your baseline opener is Card Weaver into Delaying Slash or Plentiful Harvest. Use Delaying Slash when you want damage and crowd control, or Plentiful Harvest if your team needs AP. Thanks to Card Weaver’s extra turn, you can usually do both before the enemy gets to move. Sciel, as any damage dealer in this game, is very AP hungry. So focus your luminas around AP gain and speed to keep this rotation flowing smoothly. Anytime you’re building a damage character, ensuring they can actually afford the AP to cast their big abilities should be your first priority.

Weapons Overview
Chation is acquired early and never replaced. It’s easily her best weapon for a damage-focused setup. Its benefits include constantly applying Foretell. Attributes scales perfectly this build. It powers up Our Sacrifice by ensuring you always have stacks ready to consume. Other options like Corderon and Charnon are fine, but Chation’s reliability and synergy make it hard to replace.

How to Play
This is where Sacrifice Sciel becomes a monster. Replace Card Weaver with Our Sacrifice Her signature nuke, it deals massive AoE damage to all enemies but consumes all Foretell stacks and your team’s health. That sounds bad until you realize health is nearly worthless in this game, shields are the primary defense that you should be focusing on. Equip Solidifying, In Media Res, and SOS luminas on your teammates, and suddenly that downside becomes a buff. You’ll deal massive damage and trigger every low-health lumina bonus on the team simultaneously. Replace Sealed Fate (or whatever your 6th skill was) with Fortune’s Fury. Use it on Sciel herself to double her damage before casting Our Sacrifice. It’s one of the most satisfying turns in the game. You can still use it on allies if needed, but it’s mostly here to supercharge Sciel’s nukes. Lastly, Replace Marking Card with Phantom Blade. Once you have a Free Aim teammate applying Marks consistently, you don’t need Marking Card anymore. Phantom Blade becomes a top single-target damage option, offering big break potential while still hitting hard.
Your new main combo is Bad Omen into Our Sacrifice. Bad Omen loads the battlefield with Foretell and deals strong AoE. Our Sacrifice immediately consumes it for a full-screen nuke that doubles as a support play by buffing the team using SOS luminas. Use Delaying Slash and Phantom Blade as flexible single target nukes between rotations, and drop Fortune’s Fury on yourself (or a teammate) for big damage turns. Plentiful Harvest remains optional but still excellent for long fights to make sure you never run out of gas.
There’s no single “perfect” team for Sacrifice Sciel, but you can amplify her playstyle with the right allies. Our Cultist Monoco build is the Ideal partner. He thrives on low HP and can generate shields to counterbalance Sciel’s health drain. Our Berserker Verso build is another great fit. He plays on the same razor’s edge, turning Sciel’s team-harm into part of his setup. Ensure both teammates run Solidifying and SOS luminas to take advantage of the shared low-HP state created by Our Sacrifice. Together, this trio of Sciel, Monoco, and Verso creates a thematic, aggressive, self-sustaining team that turns pain into damage.
