Catalyst Sciel
Overview
Learn how to use the ultimate support character in Expedition 33 with the Support Sciel Build. Our guide on Sciel will show you the best recommendations for weapons, luminas, skills and combos. We hope you enjoy this build on your journey to defeat the Paintress. Support Sciel is the perfect engine for your team, providing them with extra turns, more AP and extra damage. I believe she is mandatory if you are looking for the easiest possible path to defeat the game. Paired with Lune, Maelle and Verso you can start seeing game breaking numbers very quickly.
Foretell
Foretell is the core gimmick for Sciel. Most of her abilities either add stacks, consume them, or scale with them. Applying stacks grants Sun charge, which boosts AP generation when using Moon abilities. Consuming stacks grants Moon charge, which boosts AP generation when using Sun abilities. If both charges are present then it will trigger Twilight. During Twilight Sciel deals extra damage, applies double Foretell with her applications, and then resets back to normal after two turns. With Sacrifice Sciel you want to stack foretell quickly, then consume it for extra AP or damage depending on what your team needs.

Act 1 & 2
Sciel doesn’t become completely ridiculous until Act 3 when her ability to give teammates double damage breaks the game, so in Acts 1–2 we do build her as a competent fighter-support hybrid.
- Focused Foretell is the easy opener, it applies two stacks, or five if the target has none to get your stacks going, it’s cheap and effective.
- Searing Bond adds five stacks to burning enemies and deals solid AoE damage on burning targets. With Lune or Maelle going first setting the fires up, this is one of the strongest early abilities possible. Lune going first with Wildfire into Sciel using Searing Bond will either kill or nearly kill any enemy and those that it does not kill will have five stacks on them for Sciel to work with on her next turn.
- Plentiful Harvest will consume all of your Foretell on a target to grant 1 AP per stack to an ally. Early game, this is very nice for your AP economy, this will let your high damage characters fire off their higher cost abilities early and often.
- Intervention will give an ally an instant turn and +4 AP. It’s one of the best abilities in the game. With Cheater later, that one extra turn often becomes two turns in a row to your highest damage dealing character, which is usually good enough to end fights right there.
- Spectral Sweep hits 5–7 times and adds a Foretell stack on each hit (crits add more). Great for stacking on bosses and chunky enemies.
- Sealed Fate is the Multi-hit finisher. If Foretell is present on the enemy, each hit will consume a stack to double its damage. It flips Sciel into a damage dealer whenever you need to close out an enemy.
Open with Focused Foretell (or Searing Bond if the target is burning). Stack further with Spectral Sweep on durable targets. Bank AP for your teammates via Plentiful Harvest when stacks are high; Intervention your carry to hand them your turn for more damage. Lastly, if cleanup is needed, Sealed Fate cashes Foretell into lethal damage. The Lune synergy is the real power early on Wildfire into Searing Bond gives large AoE damage and foretell application that can carry Acts 1–2 by itself.

Attributes
Agility first, allowing Sciel to move fast will allow her to buff and debuff before the enemies can move and it also scales with both of her weapons. Then Luck, it pairs well with her critical hit bonuses and allows her to remain somewhat of a threat if she ends up as the last character standing. Might last for some extra damage.

Weapons Overview
Early game one of the best options is Tisseron, it scales with Agility + Defense which are both great stats and it enhances Twilight (extra turn on entering, longer duration, more damage). The extra turn becomes redundant after acquiring Cheater, but before then it’s excellent. Solid, with reliable scaling.
Litheson is the endgame support weapon of choice, it scales with Agility + Luck which is great. It grants allies Greater Rush and debuffs enemies with Greater Slow. Allowing your team to have a major speed advantage. Additionally this weapon helps her greatly with AP generation allowing you to spam your two core abilities without ever running dry.

Pictos Overview
For Pictos use First Strike, Glass Canon and Solidifying. These will give you full critical chance and save you a bunch on Lumina cost.
How to Play
Act 3 is where Sciel becomes a pure pocket support and the party’s force multiplier. Replace Focused Foretell with Fortune’s Fury, which will target an ally to double their damage for one turn. This scales harder and harder as numbers uncap, making it far more valuable late (turning 3M into 6M matters more than turning 7,000 into 9,999 did). You will keep Plentiful Harvest, Searing Bond, Spectral Sweep, Sealed Fate, and most crucially Intervention.
The late-game combat loop is very simple. Use Fortune’s Fury on your carry (Verso, Maelle, or Lune) for double damage. Intervention the same ally to give them your turn. Then watch the room evaporate. If anything lives, just repeat the cycle, it is a very simple late game rotation and Sciel pretty much just exists to enable your other companions.
