Twilight Sciel
Overview
Sciel’s scythe makes her look like a reaper, but in this build she becomes something far scarier: a self-sufficient nuker capable of carrying fights from Act 2 onward with overwhelming consistency. By focusing entirely on Foretell stacks and her ability to enter Twilight with maximum bonuses, Sciel unleashes some of the strongest numbers in the game without needing external support. Where other characters require careful synergy or setups, this version of Sciel handles everything herself. She applies stacks fast, converts them into devastating damage or AP refills, and uses her unique scaling to maintain momentum until the fight is over. This makes her one of the most reliable solo-style carries in Expedition 33 while still fitting neatly into any team as raw damage.
Act 1 & 2
Sciel’s foundation is Foretell, the stacking mechanic that fuels both her damage and utility. Applying stacks grants sun charge for AP gain on moon skills, consuming stacks gives moon charge for AP on sun skills, and once she holds one of each, Twilight activates—doubling Foretell application and boosting damage by 50%, plus 25% for each additional stack. The goal is always to enter Twilight fully loaded with maximum stacks for the largest spike possible.
Her strongest early skills include:
- Marking Card: A reliable opener that applies three Foretell stacks and marks enemies for execution.
- Bad Omen: A devastating AoE starter that drops stacks across the board, setting up Dark Wave.
- Delaying Slash: Pushes enemy turns back while scaling off built stacks, making it both a control and damage tool.
- Dark Wave: High-scaling AoE that becomes lethal when combined with Bad Omen.
- Phantom Blade: A much-needed breaker. Even though Sciel isn’t the best breaker, with stacks her contribution here is strong.
- Sealed Fate: The single-target nuke for bosses or enemies immune to dark damage.
- Plentiful Harvest (flex): Optional early utility to restore AP to the team after heavy Foretell application.
Early combos are simple. For groups, Bad Omen into Dark Wave clears enemies quickly. Against tougher single targets, Marking Card into Delaying Slash or Sealed Fate provides strong early spikes. Phantom Blade should always be used on break opportunities, while Plentiful Harvest is your emergency AP reset. By mid-Act 2, Sciel already plays like a carry.

Weapons Overview
In Act 2, you’ll choose between two weapons:
- Chadion: The offensive pick. Excellent at stacking Foretell, scales with Luck and Vitality, and amplifies Sealed Fate’s single-target pressure. The drawback is survivability—Sciel takes double damage and becomes very fragile.
- Corduron: The safer choice. Scales with Defense and Luck, grants a strong 50% damage boost, and avoids the glass-cannon drawback. The curse effect (death if Twilight isn’t entered within three turns) is mostly irrelevant, since this build reliably triggers Twilight by turn three.
The endgame weapon, and the one that makes the build complete, is Martenon. This weapon transforms Sciel entirely: it deals AoE damage on Twilight entry, doubles sun/moon charge generation, and applies extra Foretell stacks automatically. Every time you enter Twilight, Martenon wipes weaker enemies before Sciel even casts a spell, then supercharges her next nuke. The only drawback is Vitality scaling, which doesn’t boost crit, but that can be patched through Pictos.

Pictos Overview
Keep the loop compact and decisive. Walk forward guarding, bait a swing, and perfect parry. Immediately cash the counter to tag the combo finisher, then choose your conversion: takedown if the bar is full, or heavy ender into Clear Out if multiple targets are close. When you sense the tide turning, hit Barbaric Shout first; the shield and stagger convert panic moments into winning positions, and the window it creates makes Clear Out non-negotiable for the next two beats. If the mob is small or you’re tunneling a high-health threat, swap Clear Out for Flurry of Blows and ride the lifesteal to stay planted while the bleeds tick. Always re-cast Arcane Veil before committing to long strings or boss windows; it’s cheap insurance that also keeps your timing greedy without punishment.
Two anchors keep the build honest. First, never swing blindly into red telegraphs—step, parry, and cash the finisher instead. Second, don’t chase whiffs with stamina-draining heavies; reset with a quick step, re-guard, and bait again. The build’s damage comes from advantage, not spam. When it hums, fights read the same: shout to seize tempo, parry to mint a finisher, bleed the pack, and decide which target gets the takedown. That’s the Crimson Warlord—measured, brutal, and always in control.

From Act 3 onward, Sciel evolves into one of the strongest nukers in Expedition 33. Twilight Dance replaces Delaying Slash as her signature move, extending Twilight while melting bosses in a single cast. Paired with Martenon, she starts every Twilight phase at full stacks, applies AoE damage on entry, and carries a 150% damage bonus across her nukes.
Her late-game flow looks like this:
- Open with Bad Omen if AoE is needed, or Marking Card if focusing a boss.
- Build four sun charges through stack application, then enter Twilight with a moon ability like Dark Wave or Phantom Blade.
- With Martenon, Twilight entry alone maxes Foretell stacks and deals AoE damage.
- Once inside Twilight:
- Use Dark Wave for clearing groups.
- Use Twilight Dance for boss deletion.
- Use Sealed Fate to bypass dark immunities.
- Drop Phantom Blade on break setups to chain stuns.
The only critical timing detail is to never enter Twilight on Sciel’s last action of a turn, since the effect only triggers at the start of her next one. Managing this window is what separates smooth runs from wasted setups. With proper timing, Sciel wipes bosses in a single Twilight turn and erases trash mobs almost instantly.
Stat investment shifts with weapons: scale Vitality once Martenon is equipped, stack Agility to maintain turn order and crit setups, and add Might for flat damage. With the right Pictos—particularly The One for crit consistency and Cheater for turn loops—Sciel becomes self-sufficient, unstoppable, and devastating.
